I joined Tile Africa in 2001 as a part-time Floor Assistant, working Saturdays and Sundays at the Ontdekkers Branch. When the Strubens Valley store opened in 2004, I was given the opportunity to work as full time Floor Assistant, loading stock for customers with pride. I dreamed of becoming a Design Advisor and with the support of my Branch Manager, I went for it and was promoted to become full time Design Advisor in 2006. In 2013 I was promoted to Sales Floor Manager at Lenasia Branch where I got to serve customers with pride and excellent service. In 2016 I was promoted again to become Branch Manager here in Lenasia. I have learned from all management across Norcros and would like to thank all of them for grooming me to where I am currently, for seeing my potential and rewarding talent. I can’t leave Tile Africa, once your blood is thick orange, you cannot dilute it.
My journey began in 2010 when I was hired as a part time Design Advisor working 3 days a week at the Pietermaritzburg branch. I knew that there will be many opportunities and all I had to do was work hard and be motivated to produce good results. My first opportunity came when I was asked to work at the Ballito branch for four months, where I achieved my sales target every month. I was rewarded with a permanent position as a Design Advisor at the Pietermaritzburg Branch, then later as a Senior Design advisor, following which I was appointed as Sales Floor Manager. In my career I have attended numerous development programs with the company, most recently I obtained my qualification in Generic Management NQF level 5 and graduated from the Branch Manager Designate program. I know that it does not stop here for me, as my blood is ORANGE.
I started working for Tile Africa in November 2010 as part-time Design Advisor. Through my hard work and dedication, I was given a permanent position with the company in 2013. When the 1505 Achievers Club was introduced, which is a club for the top Design Advisors in Tile Africa. I was pleased to be part of the club. I think it’s because of my passion for sales, and that I am a target driven kind of person – call me sales guru! During my time with Tile Africa, I've gained more experience and learnt how to deal with different kinds of customers.
Each year, Norcros welcomes new graduates appointed to join the Norcros Graduate Program. The program has seen many of the graduates occupy permanent position upon completion of the program. Look out for the Graduate advert coming out soon.
